Kidsaware is run by Allergy Lifestyle a business set up by a mother to a child with an Anaphylactic peanut allergy. My daughter developed severe eczema within the first few months and after a life threatening exposure to peanuts coming up to her second birthday, she was diagnosed with peanut, egg, sesame seed and dustmite allergies. She also suffers from hay fever. She was my inspiration to set up Allergy Lifestyle to source and supply as many products to alert others to her allergies, keep her safe and help raise awareness to serious allergies.
Kidsaware was originally set up in 2001 by Jillian Lane and Kay Knight both parents to children with anaphylactic allergies. It is now run by Allergy Lifestyle but the ultimate aim of Kidsaware remains the same 'To help protect our own and other susceptible children from the trauma of anaphylactic shock'.
Allergy Lifestyle has worked tirelessly to source lots of new kid friendly products and are constantly looking for new helpful products to add to the range. Kidsaware now have an extensive range of Allergy Awareness Products for nut, dairy, egg, seafood and other food allergies which has developed in conjunction with the tremendous feedback and support received from our customers, as well as the ever changing requirements of our own children. We recently added a range of Asthma products to the collection to assist many of our customers who also manage Asthma in addition to allergies.
All Kidsaware products carry messages that the wearer has allergies and many of our items can be personalised to help improve communication and thus avoid unnecessary exposure to allergens.
We believe it is vital to raise awareness of the fact that an allergy can be potentially fatal. Nut allergy for example now affects 1 in 50 people, the majority being young people and the numbers of people with allergies seems to be growing.
Our customers tell us that our products make their children feel special, not different and help with their confidence. All our products are personally designed by us and our small team, (most of who are also affected by allergies) and also our children who we know are our ultimate judges... |
